Steve, you are a pleathora of information. That thing is great. My boys and I really enjoyed going through his build and are really impressed with the work he put into that ride. It is so one of a kind!!

I've gotten to where I no longer like to explain why I have some things because they are parts for projects I'd have to live to 140 to complete...

I have two COEs and today was offered a third (a '54 Chevy!). But I'm not too sure I'll ever finish the two I've got let alone half the other projects in my queue ahead of them.

More imagination than either time or money is my problem.

Running with the Jag color suggestion, I broke out my BASF color chips.

After some close comparison it appears that could be 1999 Jag Emerald Metallic #JBC-1895, I spent a few minutes trying to find a on-line chip but fell short. Maybe you can find one to confirm......

That color does make that truck POP, I'm sure it would your's as well !

The '54 GMC with the for sale sign was restored by a guy in Tacoma who put it up for sale probably two years ago. I didn't know him more than saying hi at shows and don't know if it sold or not. I do know I've not seen either him or it for a couple years. I'm pretty sure his name was Steve but no relation to me.

This truck was built by a couple of shops here in Washington for a guy who lived just a few miles from where I live now. It was finished about 15 years ago and the rumor was he spent between $150,000 and $200,000 back then having the truck built.

This one truck was probably more than any other what prompted me to go out and look for my own COE. If I remember right it has a Cummins under the hood with a GM 1-ton frame. Two cabs, six doors and a Suburban were all used to make that cab.

Look at the bed under the decking, including locking compartment at the rear. Those are all Suburban pieces adapted to this truck.

It has since been listed on eBay at least once, though it didn't make reserve at $30K. It has changed hands at least a couple times since. Last I knew it was in the South somewhere, but I knew that because it was for sale again.

Similar and different. Instead of a 5-window cab back extending the size of the cab I'm thinking a combination of Suburban and 1-ton panel parts.

The COE cowl forward including hood and fenders, grafted to the panel body in the windshield and doors. I'll cut in the Suburban side windows in the panel body to allow passengers to see the scenery. And I don't plan a flat bed on the back of mine.

Last fall I was able to grab a couple pictures of a COE grafted to a Suburban which illustrates somewhat my plan.

Forgive me the lousy camera angle, there was stuff stacked in front of the truck that kept me from getting a better angle and really no way to get on the other side of it.

I literally was walking around some strangers back yard to take these pictures.

Imagine something similar with the longer 1-ton panel body and the standard length Suburban windows grafted in behind the doors. It ends up about three feet longer, the rear fender starts under the rear most window, and the last few feet has no windows.

I have two split window COE cabs and that split window 1-ton panel, but I've decided I want to base the project on a '54 GMC COE cab which also means I need a '54/'55 1st 1-ton panel too. I need more trucks! (That's not an offer to buy, I couldn't do anything with them for a long time.)

This project is why I have an old motorhome parked out back. It is the frame and suspension for this project.

At the pace I'm moving this project will move into high gear in another ten or fifteen years...

It`s always great to get a bit of info on a truck.I know that double cab was built a while back.It was the first I ever saw done as a crew cab.

Maybe I need to get a life. It seems every time someone posts more than one COE picture I know at least one of the trucks.

This one belongs to a guy named Ric who I think lives in Sumner, Washington, putting him close to Nonhog and Sillyoldman and probably others. He used to call himself Mr Shorty online.

Its been around a long time too, and has a Cadillac 500 for power. It started out as a 3-window cab and Ric converted it to a 5-window. If you've seen the discussion on how to do that in the 'How to Restore Your Chevrolet Pickup' book, this is the guy who did it and I'm pretty sure it is the same truck in the pictures.

Last I heard the truck was in storage and he hadn't had it out or driven it in years. Ric dropped out of the circle of friends where I knew him and I don't know any more what he is up to. We were going to connect at a car show a couple years ago but when I found his truck (a '39 or '40 GMC pickup) at the show he was either no where around or hiding when I walked up.

Got this one back in 2004. Been real slow going on it. Built several other projects in between working on this one. Finishing college now and have vowed to stay off the trucks til I'm done. Did a 5 window conversion and it's on a C10 1 ton chassis.

Wow, Emerald, huh? When I think of Emerald I think of a much sharper true green color. But I will definitely go look for the color you've given me. Can't thank you enough for the effort. Best, Dan
