1967 c40

Ok I bought this cause I have a bunch of classic cars and wanted a big truck. I have had a few thoughts on things i'd like to do like a front steer setup with a rack-n-pinion, 5.3 ls and th400 which I already have all. truck will not ever be used for hauling any real weight etc. Anyone have any advice on steering or anything else. More than likely the truck will end up with air ride also. Anyway, this is the only resource I have found with anyone doing anything to the larger trucks so any pointers im all ears.

If you will never haul much then you might want to consider swapping out to a lighter 1 ton frame and running gear. Then if you want the big truck dual wheel look you can get adapters to mount the larger 10 hole 18 wheeler wheels. You'll find all of your brake and steering parts all way easier to source. My personal preference is to keep them as medium duty trucks but they are hard to find parts for, slow and rough riding, but to each his own! How about some pictures of what you are working with?

I forgot I have this 1 ton with all new steel screw bushings etc I can pull the front and rearend out of with all the brakes to go into my 67..

That's what i'm leaning towards. I plan to take some measurements tomorrow though to check.
