Boosted LQ4
Wasn’t planning on going the turbo route but it was just too good of a deal to pass up. Have bartered with a friend for a brand new turbo kit that a customer never paid for completely and forfeited what he did spend because of time.
Already have this camshaft: CAM DYNAMICS LOW LIFT TRUCK CAM 224/230 112+3 .500" lift Stock heads installed. Have the following parts: 8.0 injectors, 243 heads, ls6 springs. Haven’t installed anything yet. Any input on how this cam would respond to boost? With stock heads (317 I think) or go with 243s with ls6 springs? Looking for best performance for what I have. Re: Boosted LQ4
Might have better luck on the LSx subsection.
The cam should function alright for the most part. Your LSA is a little tighter than some might typical go with for boost but it should bring the boost in a little quicker, tho you might lose some all out power. You're tuner will need to watch timing since you have advance ground in. Dropping to 243's will bump your compression. I'd probably suggest sticking with your 317's unless you want to upgrade some other stuff as well. You might squeak by with the 8.0 injectors, tho you'll probably run out of fuel pretty quick if you want to turn it up at all. Also, a bunch of this is going to completely depend on exactly what turbo this thing is planning on getting.
