Re: BACK in BLACK

I never knew how much I liked black. My truck is primered over white paint. But underneath that it is black....from the factory. Black cloth interior according to the info on the glovebox door. It isn't a CST....just a Custom.

Seeing yours just gets my mouth waterin'. I got a guy who is waiting on me. I'm waiting on the probate court to free up the $$$$. I had seriously considered suede but knowing the same prep goes for either finish, I finally decided it had to shine.

Keep us all posted. It's a clean truck, for sure.

Re: BACK in BLACK

Nice truck. After seeing it now are you still going to use that as a daily driver? I sure wouldn't put branches/garbage on that truck.

Re: BACK in BLACK

Very nice, the black paint is very clean, almost like chrome. I am in Austin, TX is your painter close. NOW lets talk more about that gas tank. What year was it, what was required to mount it, was any frame mods required and how many gallons is it. I to would rather not put the filler neck through the bed or fender.

Its a tank thats supposed to fit 69ish camaro/firebird. No frame mods were required other than two pieces of square tubing to space the tank down 1 1/4 inch so the filler neck would end up behind the liscense plate. I just used metal staps that i found at the local hardware store and bent my own straps out of them. It was really an easy install!

Re: BACK in BLACK

Nice truck! One concern I have is how the gas tank goes beyond the frame rails. If you don't have any kind of steel support surrounding that rear, you'll end up in real bad shape if you get rear-ended. I have a Suburban tank that stuck out a bit and I just boxed it in with angle iron and my heavy duty bumper.
