Yeah, as time went on they were using less and less Detroits. It more or less started in the late '70's, early 80's.

I remember seeing a few 1987 Generals and 1987-89 Brigadiers with Detroit 60 Series diesels. Funny how the 60 became the best selling heavy duty diesel through the 1990's. The 2-strokes had really fallen out of favor by the mid-80's, except for busses and fire apparatus.

Yeah I remember being told a few thousand only came factory with the Early 60 Series... Boy I'd sure love one. But nothing beats an 8v92!

I was just looking at Brigadiers today and found this. IIRC, it had a 6v92/13spd?
