Pics of Larger Tanks!!
So my 72 has a 16 gallon tank in it. I am wanting it to be bigger. I now NWMP makes a 37 gallon, but I am very concerned about departure angles.
So can anyone post pics of how their tank hangs. Especially from the rear?

Here's my pics of the K5 with the 25 gallon tank. K5 has a 4" spring lift. I had to move the rear crossmember all the way to the end of the frame. The front barely sits behind the pumpkin.
I can't remember if the 37 gallon tank is longer and interferes with the pumpkin or if the volume is made up in height....

I run the NWMP 37 gallon in mine, nice piece. Fits nicely and doesn't hang all that low in my opinion, and actually has a kick up in the rear for added ground clearance.
Never any issues with mine off roading and I'm stock ride height. If you are raised at all I wouldn't even worry about it. |

I have a 91 30gal. I removed the rear cross member and made my own from 2"sq tubing. It hangs fairly low but I have not drug it yet with a 4" lift.

ok, did the best I could. Cant read my yard stick in the pictures. With 33 tires, 4 lift, on stock worn out suspension. The bottom of my tank is at 19.5.
The way I positioned my tank, it comes damn close to the pumpkin, but still clears. |

When positioning your tank, it should be noted that the rear axle moves to the rear when the springs are compresses (fixed spring eye up front and shackle hanger in rear). So account for some axle movement or your tank will hit the axle center section under compression even if it looks like it should clear at normal ride height.
