Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Got 33"s installed on my 71! The 28" tall tires I took off were dated 1995 so I was do for some new ones.

I think someone asked before but what contact paper are you using. I found it, apparently I asked the last time you did a set, lol.

Cut and buffed the new paint. Turning out great!

Even began to put the trim and lights back onto it.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

We've been working on my 72 K5 4x4 Blazer...cleaning up the fuel tank and replacing all the rubber lines. A little POR-15 on the tank does wonders. We're ready to put the tank back up inside the truck but can't remember where each smaller fuel line goes. Any ideas or photos? thanks.

Got my 71 out to check my paint buffing in the light. Almost finished. Should be ready to market this summer.

Thanks Bud!

Looks like there's quite a few members here from California, and many narrow it down to Northern CA.

Hopefully they'll have another '67-'72 Truck get together in Grass Valley again this year.

It would be pretty cool for several of us to meet up if that event does take place.

I didn't know about it or I would of showed up. I did go to the intervention in Auburn. I believe the intervention will be in Woodland this year.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

72’ Blazer Fuel Lines Replaced.

Believe mine were original that are replaced. If to do again, will make my own. Purchased a set from In-Line Tube. To be nice just say would Not use again. The lengths, bends, and tube size incorrect. Will likely remove them and bend my own. Had a very knowledge long time forum vendor purchase for me.

On a positive note their brake line set fit great.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Transition from Parchment to Saddle continues. Saving the Parchment for another project. These were originally black visors, visor clips, and door panels.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

When I purchased my truck it came with a bunch of parts. Apparently someone had taken all the trim off to paint it, but never did.
In the box was, what I assume, the original emblems, but had been painted black. Took a brass wheel and some polishing to it and they came out nice!

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Looks nice, for future reference some dot3 brake fluid in a container and soak for a while will lift most paint off.

Looks great. I’ve read that rebuilding wing windows is not an easy task.

Wow! The door panel looks fantastic!

How did you retain the raised silver border stripe with the woodgrain contact paper? Did you add pinstripe on it or trim the contact paper to reveal the raised strip underneath?

Actually, it wasn't too difficult at all.

I did view a video posted by Mr. Jerry Kassis prior to starting mine. The video is long, but very good.

Last set I cut the top off of the raised boarder stripe by running a razor blade on the top. However this time I used a firm rubber squeegee to push the contact paper against the raised boarder, then cut on either side of the raised detail. Came out much better.
