Lower Ball joint myth?

All,

I'm replacing my lower ball joints and need help confirming or expelling a myth.

I recall hearing that new lower ball joints are several thou larger in diameter then original to make a solid fit. Because of this the lower control arms become expanded. I heard that the lower ball joints can only be replaced once. After the 1st ball joint replacement, the entire control arm needs to be replaced during the next lower ball joint service.

Is this true? I can't find any specs on the OE versus replacement ball joint diameters.

P.S. I'm also replacing my upper ball joints, control arm bushings, inner and outer tie rod ends and my idler arm. Then I'm doing an alignment. Full front service.

Ive rebuilt quite a few front suspensions but Ive never heard that. Some of these trucks may have had lots of ball joints over the years but Ive never noticed any difference all have to be pressed in and out.

Moog problem solvers are oversized to deal with arm pockets that have been enlarged over the years. Most ball joints are not.

I still had problems with the Moog joints being loose in my control arms. I tried a couple different brands with the same results. I ended up welding them in place. When the time comes Ill replace the arms next time.

I had this exact problem and solved it this exact way

dodge with the screw in had this problem real bad back in the day .

i have never had much problem with other brands of vehicle .
