Cool Re: 1965 chevy truck one piece @a time

spent about and hour fighting an grill that was chromed that was a little twisted
the bold holes didn't line up the were a little off .. got the first side on the got
the first one started then have to massage the second one to get started.
if it wasn't the fact that i took my old grill to the chrome plater and he had one all ready done i should have just told them to do mine .
that was over two years ago .. owell .live and learn

The grill support looks impressively straight. Did you have any dent/rust repair to do?

Adding a new one to the collection of when it gets done
its a 1964 not sure if its a 230 or 250 in line 6
its mounted to a 4pd and drum brakes all around done run and drive
brakes are a little scary and no power .. want to make it a good daily driver
need a little bringing it up to stop and drive ... its been sitting for 2 1/2 years ..

a few more of the 1964 going to have a small list of things that need to be done.
what was neat it still has the date mare on the inside of the hood it was a plane jane truck
the guy i bought it from
said it had a pontiac 350 in it and the org motors long gone he bought an 230 inline and put in is
4 spd is saginaw dors shut nice and the windows stick a little rolling up and down might just need
a little grease or new rollers .the linkage needs little work .

Re: 1965 chevy truck one piece @a time

I've heard of using long pieces of all thread to help hold the trans while you guide the input shaft thru the TOB and the clutch disc, but you are supposed to remove them and replace with bolts when done.

Yes it is amazing what some people will make use of rather than just get the correct parts.
