Invader 350 Valve Covers

I'd like the get the skinny on the GMC 350 Invader valve cover stickers that came on the GMC trucks. I'd like to see pictures of surviving originals, get measurements, what year trucks they came on, etc all ironed out here. If this has all been discussed before I somehow missed it. Let's see what info we can gather on this unique to the GMC.

Re: Invader 350 Valve Covers

Yeah, I think someone...maybe here on the forum?...is reproducing those now, although I don't know who.
They might have even shown up on Ebay to my recollection.

Re: Invader 350 Valve Covers

Will be interesting to see. My Jimmy has been in the family since '77 and it does NOT have the Invader decals.

The other GMC's I've owned have been big blocks and I don't recall seeing Invader decals but stock VC's were gone from my '70. I'll look at the '71 in the yard tomorrow.

Re: Invader 350 Valve Covers

There is a member who offers the 70/71(?) Chevy 8-350 stickers for the passenger side. I have a set of valve covers I did with those. Never seen these reproduced. There is someone with a couple pair of these Invader stickers left (N.O.S.) and that's where my picture came from. I just bought a pair, not here yet. He had them listed for all years but '67, but that's because there were no 350s. But none in '68 either... talking strictly GMC Truck. I'm trying to make a collection of all the variations. Finding these GMC ones has me tickled... no not pink!

I came up with some early 327 valve covers and bought reproduction stickers for those. I went with ones that don't show HP to be generic.

EDIT: Just checked Brothers' site and they sell them. Says 70/71 and no mention of GMC. But they don't have this stuff listed accurately. The have the disc brake tailgate sticker listed as 70-71. We all know those were '71-only and we know '70s didn't even have disc brakes... hence only '71, the introduction year. guess they figure they'd ave a broader market by listing the extra years.

Re: Invader 350 Valve Covers

Here is a picture of what I am pretty sure are original stickers and they are on a '70 Chevy. So I guess not exclusive to GMC... oh well. Can't GMC have at least one cool small block valve cover all it's own?

And here is a thread from this site with some talk on engine stickers

Re: Invader 350 Valve Covers

Cool. It still helped because it led me to look at Brothers' site and they were easy to find. I just spent 5x as much, but for N.O.S. Wasn't planning on using them. Was thinking about having some reproductions made. Maybe I'll buy some from them and see if they are a good copy. Actually, I think their price is each and I bought a pair, so 2.5x as much.
