Re: 'cigar lighter' kill switch?

i moved the wire from the key and ran it to one side of a horn button.. mounted the horn button in the bottom of the lighter, after gutting it.. turn the key to own, press the lighter in to engage the starter.. the now vacant post on the key went to the horn relay..

thought that was very clever back in the 60's. of course i showed every one i knew..

Re: 'cigar lighter' kill switch?

you can put a relay in series with anything on the truck.. that object would have to be on for the truck start.. if you wanted to get fancy, truck would not start without the lights on first, or the radio..

as long as the coil of the relay is in series, and the hot wire to the ignition switch runs through normally closed contacts of the relay.. with a few more tricks, you could get a lot fancier.. i usually use horn relays for junk like that..

All you have to do is put a on/off switch somewhere and run the HEI wire through it. Just hide it really good. Be creative. All a switch does is break the circuit.

without cutting a wire, you can remove and fuse,, connect a wire to both sides of the fuse holder.. add an inline fuse and run that to your switch
