experience w dual transfercases

I was thinking a dual transfer on my 72 chevy, in the Toyota world they reportedly workwell giving you very low gearing while still maintaining good hiway hiway gearing. So I was wondering what experience guys have had pro and coins. Thanks

1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears
1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now.....
1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone.
1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed.

1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

Yea that's the one I was looking at. I have not ever been around one or talked to anybody that has one to see how well they liked it.

When they are both in high you wont notice a difference. But in double low, then you will see the difference

Doubler's are awesome if you have enough wheelbase, and the ORD is the standard. Mostly there is no need for a 4:1 low range, but if you need it you may REALLY need it. But the great thing is you can still use the 2:1 standard low range.

Heres is my link I drive the truck everyday; it has its advantages in alot of offroad situations. If you have any swap questions ;just ask.

Had my ORD for over ten years. Went thru the Rubicon several times with no hitches. Drove it to Fl. From Cali no issues. Still working great. A true stump puller for sure. And Boat launching is just fantastic. Coupled to the 700r4 it is unstoppable.

I went the extreme installing Advanced adapters 4 speed T-case. they do cost more than NP203 with NP205. but I get 10 to 1 low gear and over drive with NV4500 5th gear.

Just remember it does take a little fab for a the t case crossmembers and both driveshafts will change in length.If your a hardcore off roader i would go for it,If your more a middle ground off roader a twin stick np205 with the 4to1 gear set will work great too.

unfortunately the 4:1 gears for a 205 arent out there. just a 3:1 lomax set which is a little over budget for most people and might not be enough for other people.

this is first gear and 4:1. the power and torque are awesome and the engine wont stall no matter how nose high i get. for the most part i try and idle obstacles and goose it if i need to.
i have 4.56 gears and 42 inch tires. i can put it in first with 6.5:1 and 4:1 and walk faster.

Obujan that looks like a lot of fun. I think the duals is the way to go as far as any fab and welding that's just more fun for me. Thanks for all of your replies and experience

How did I miss this thread?!

I've had 2 203 range boxes fall into my lap at no cost, but timing didn't fall right for the doubler conversion so i ignorantly scrapped em. After playing on the narrow logging trails I find twin stick and ground rails a necessity next to the compound low range.
