No headliner, cargo light or inside mirror on my 69 CST?

I just purchased a ‘69 CST20. I thought in 69 all CSTs came with the headliner and the cargo light(?) I also thought by 69C series came standard with an inside rearview mirror(?) his truck is very original and it’s obvious it never had any of these items. Any of you have some thoughts on this? I have the build sheet and it shows a build date of 9-27-68 so it’s a pretty early build if that makes a difference.........

I would not say "it’s obvious it never had any of these items." People do customizations all the time and it's been a long time since that truck was made at the Chevy factory. That paint job does not look like a 50 year old paint job, it's just too pretty.

My '69 CST/20 (mid Dec., '68 Fremont production) also lacked those items when I bought it new. I bet your side markers are not the deluxe version and are not lighted also (unless they've been changed). After I bought the truck, I noticed those things were missing. I contacted Chevrolet and was told they were added to the CST package a couple weeks after mine was made. However, I think the inside mirror remained an option.

The early 69s didn't have a headliner or cargo light. Some headliners in 69 were perforated. I think a rearview mirror was still an option in 69 also.
Lets see more pics.

Re: No headliner, cargo light or inside mirror on my 69 CST?

Here's member JJorgensen52's very very early 69 K10 CST in black. It does not have the cargo light and has the rearview mirror called out as the D36 option. I don't have any pics of the headliner...maybe he can tell us. Unfortunately I don't have a SPID for the low mileage 69 CST30 in green. It does have the usual CST goodies including the perforated headliner. My understanding is that the rearview mirror became standard in the back half of the 69MY.

This is interesting info. I stand corrected. I plan to do that with my headliner, as I like that clean metal look.

Every single piece in the interior is original and just as nice as the roofi and visors in the picture. An old camper truck that is remarkably well preserved for its age.

My truck is Fremont built As well and sold new by Starksen Chevrolet in Lancaster, California. You are correct the side markers are just reflectors, they are not wired, also not the deluxe versions with the stainless. A camper truck when new, I guess it wouldn’t need an inside mirror. Also odd, does not have the camper special package, a coil spring rear truck with auxiliary leaf Springs.

The Custom Camper option was just a different emblem available at no cost if the "right" equipment was ordered. The truck could have the CST emblem and still have everything required for the Custom Camper. That's the case with my "CST/20".
