I have some detail shots of a tri five truck that was at this past year's Lonestar Roundup here in Austin. It had the cool gasser look. I am thing of going that route with my 55 big window. I will see if I can find them.

Thanks to all of you that are following my gasser build - it gives me encouragement to continue forward when I struggle to make excuses why things are not getting done.

I should have the body work on the cab done and in prime pretty soon and will post pictures!

Nice build you got going.........very inspirational.

I'm wondering if I could get that "Gasser" look by just lowering the back and leave the front stock..... kind of a lowrider gasser...(maybe not).

Curious on what you are going to use for motor mount and what transmission your going with (sorry if perhaps maybe I missed this earlier in post).

Sorry so long for the photos. It looks like their lift is with shackles. I didn't get a chance to ask him how it drove, though.

910-32132 power steering kit

720-4771 motor mounts kit
79-161 polyurethane rear motor mounts -www.ClassicParts.com

Using a Chevy 409 big block, stock bellhousing and clutch setup hooked up to Borg Warner super T-10 4 speed tranny.

Here are the latest pictures of my project Future Gasser '57 truck. Installed the 409 in the frame to check for clearance issues. Installed the new 409 ceramic coated headers part number #65722 from Edelbrock and they fit great, polyurethane rear motor mounts and side motor mounts and bolted to frame. Set clearance on the front pulley 1/2 inch on top of front cross member and rear of valve covers are about 1/2 inch from firewall. Clearances all around the motor look good.

I was (am) considering a 409 and was wondering - where did you get the motor from? Those things are expensive, even in rough form......I have seen rebuildable 409s for around $4k.....

I bought the rebuilder 1965 chevy truck 409 long block for $2500 from a fellow from Spirit Lake, Idaho. After the tear down inspection decided to rebuild using 11:1 Ross forged pistons and mostly all Edelbrock goodies.
Needless to say it has been spendy adventure, but I am enjoying the results.
