Power steering pump?

I'm adding hydroboost to my 5.3 ps pump...I've looked and cant seem to find a clear answer..does a hydroboost ps pump put out more flow and pressure than a non hydro pump?...other than the dual return barbs is there any difference.?
I know some use the non hydro pump and just T the return fittings into the reservoir..

Re: Power steering pump?

I have heard some people say they are different, but I have used both and never noticed any differences, so I personally don't think there's a difference in them. My last truck had a smashed pump where the cap goes on so I swapped out the pump and put it into a hydroboost can, it worked fine.

Re: Power steering pump?

I swear hydroboost "Feels" boostier than a regular vacuum system, but HB equipped factory vehicles used the same steering gear/racks as non-hb trucks so the actual operating pressure can't be wildly different or they would blow seals.
