Is this club still around?At some point a while ago they stopped printing Pickups`n`Panels in Print.Just wondering if anyone here is/was a member.I was collecting every issue of the mag and bought binders since it started in`91.It was branched out of the Late Great Chevys club,especially for trucks.It was started by Seth Doulton of Golden State Pickup Parts and took over by Jim Knight and Danny Howell,I believe.They started the Chevy/GMC Truckin`Nationals and are the reason for the start of the Carlisle Truckin`Nationals.This was the best pre-internet source for classic GM Haulers:Info,free classifieds,services,feature trucks(members),tech,and local chapter news.They had a website later,although I never visited since I wasn`t using computers yet.I`m just interesred in hearing anything about it.

Ditto.They had some pretty good stuff. Heard there were problems and they went out of business but never got any details.

As far as I know they are defunct for over a year. I am in the process of starting up a new one but the progress has been a lil slow lately... I actually acquired their domain name awhile back to try and create a new nationwide club.

I too was a member for a few years back in the mid '90s. Unfortunately I was on a college student budget at the time and wasn't able to keep up my dues for very long.

I guess I`m glad I didn`t go for the lifetime membership.I suggested to them,they should have offered a conversion to lifetime after say,three years,at a break in price from the $350.I ended-up missing my renewal after 6 or 7 years and it got away from me.

I'm a former member also, really enjoyed the magazine, and in '99 our truck was on the cover, I believe Jim Knight had some health problems which had something to do with the clubs demise.

They started a website when the internet kicked in. I doubt the internet killed it. All the other clubs from back before internet are still around and online. The founder (maybe co-founder) was Jim Knight. He first started the "Late Great Chevy Club" for Impalas through '64 (the old cut-off...remember that?),then branched off to the trucks through '72. I heard his health failed,which led to the demise. Maybe it was a bit ahead of it's time. There's always been enough interest,but I mean for huge numbers like this websites member roster. I always wanted to make that shoe at Wendell State Forest. The Northeast chapter was the most organized. Many of those guys still gather and that show went on a few years after the club had dissolved

I remeber that some of those guys drove clear to Ogden Utah for the Chevy/GMC National Show. Brought down some Nice trucks.

this truck was the reason for and start of Golden State Pickup Parts, and is most likely the beginning of the chevy truck aftermarket parts industry.

I went to all the ogden shows, and have I think a complete set of magazines up until the guys at classic chevy took it over from seth.. if there is interest I will try to find some photos of the shows and scan them in...

I was a member. They are the ones who strated the all GM & GMC truck nationals back in Pigeon Forge if I remember right. I went a couple of years when they hosted it. I still have all my magz to.

Yep, that's the truck that set it off. Seth started out doing the 47-59s and in short time it went to 47-72. I went to the Ogden show one year. The Pigeon Forge show was started by the club. I always went to that. Seth and the club also started what is now Carlisle All Truck. It started out as the Chevy/GMC Truckin' Nationals at Carlisle, with all trucks invited. And yes, Truckin' magazine was a big sponsor. I think that was in '96? I have all the PPinPs in the binders they sold. I remember Seth's black supercharged pro-street 2wd Blazer. That was the first built-up/customized Blazer I remember seeing. No one seemed to care much about them before that.

I liked the free classifieds. I ran a WTB for '72 tow hooks and K/20 hubcaps. You don't want to hear what I paid back then.

My Driver Seeing the USA in a 71 Upstate SC GM Truck Club 2013,14 and 2016 Hot Rod Pour Tour http://upstategmtrucks.com/ Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun! It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
