Dual tank fuel line routing

Question about fuel line routing on an 82 K10 with dual tanks. Owner had removed pass side tank and solenoid valve when we got it. Put tank back in and new valve in. I have 3 lines on each sending unit. 6 ports on solenoid valve. I know where they all go but want to confirm my thoughts. line size on sending units are 3/8", 5/16", and 1/4". The solenoid has 2 3/8" and 2 5/16" fittings on 1 side and 1 3/8" and 1 5/16" on other side going to fuel pump. 3/8" being the supply and 5/16" being the return. However the fuel lines on truck for the fuel return is 1/4". The 5/16" lines go to the canister for vent. So is that correct that the return fitting on valve is 5/16" but the return line itself is 1/4"? None of the rubber hoses were there when we got it so I can't match up the weathered old hoses for placement. I just don't like the thought of putting a 5/16" hose on a 1/4" line.

Thoughts??

Thanks, Brian

Re: Dual tank fuel line routing

The vent lines from both tanks are tee'd together beside the valve. All are 1/4" on my original 82,K-10(I bought it new)
3 lines go from the valve area to the engine compartment- 3/8"pressure,5/16"return and 1/4" vent to the charcoal cannister.
I can verify this info if needed.

Re: Dual tank fuel line routing

Thanks for the info. If you could take a pic of it that would be great. If it's not too much trouble. I just measured the return fitting on fuel pump and it's 1/4". Again thanks!!

Re: Dual tank fuel line routing

I can't get a picture right now!
I have the valve out and plan to remove the tanks for new fuel lines and cleaning next.
And,I looked it over today and noticed that the vent line at the charcoal canister is 5/16".Somewhere,it changes size.
The 1/4" line just goes past the fuel pump toward the canister.

Re: Dual tank fuel line routing

My 1/4" line goes to the fuel pump and the 5/16" goes past the pump to canister.

I don't have pictures handy but I have some in my thread, not sure if it would be of any use to you. I converted to dual tanks.
