difference between k10 cab mounts??

I bought a k10 4x4 running gear and don't know what year it is. I know it is an '81 or newer. I am going to put a '79 body on it. When looking at cab mount kits, I am finding that '84 and newer is a different set than '81- '83. Part of the mounting hardware is still with the frame. I think I need the set that matches the frame. Can someone tell me what the difference is-what should I be looking for so that I know which set to buy? Thanks!

Pretty sure you need to match the mounts with the year Cab you are using

mounts = frame style 73-80 or 81-up .

i have mix-n-match from both directions . always used the frame as body mount style to use .

I think the bottom of the cabs are pretty much the same 73-87 so I figured I need to match the year of frame. So is the mounting hardware the same for 81-87 k10? Thanks!

i have never seen a change my self in 81-87 stuff .

i know some 73-80 if using aftermarket bushings need the rear tube cut down in length for there bushing is all .

i have 3 trucks now with 81-up frames and bodys on them no problems.

now there is 1 piece floor pans with 2wd low hump unless 4 speed then high hump same as 4wd high hump .

i currently have a th400/203/205 combo under a 2wd low hump cab floor in a k30 frame and it JUST clears . even if it didnt it only needs a hammer dent under the seat were you will never see it . now a stock 4wd shifter in the floor would be wierd i think . but i dont know as i have a aftermarket 3 stick shifter so its custom anyways .

I had it backwards. I used an 84 cab with 76 mounts

When looking at new parts I notice they show 84 and newer are different. I don’t know what the difference is and which to get.

what new parts ? and from who ?

every poly body bushing kit i have got from energy suspension shows 81-87-91 body style.

e/s kit shows 81-87 fit .

lmc shows the lower rubber is 3 diff styles depending on year .

so if reusing some original then you need to know what to order . if just a whole new kit then 1 kit does it for the replacement of the rubbers only with poly .
