Can anyone tell me what this is called? Pulled it from the ignition area.

That would be your ignition switch supposed to bolt to the column and actuated by a rod from the lock cylinder

and its adjustable as you can see on the 2 slotted mount holes . so your key moves the rod just the right amount.
