Pics of Chevy HD aluminum wheels on 67-72

I bought some factory 8 lug wheels for my 67 K2500. I have seen pics before but would like to see some more. Where can I find lug nuts so that I can use the factory hub caps? Will I need to use any spacers for fitment? Thanks

Re: Pics of Chevy HD aluminum wheels on 67-72

u can get lug nuts anywhere..
i recommend taking one off to match against the ones they have.. the typical autozoners dont know crap..
but if you go to a major chain ou'll get better arts (dicsount tire etc)
.. but i wish i should score "factory" tires in my truck it think they look awesome with mudder tires pm square bodies

Are these the type of wheels you want pictures of ? Also a picture of one on the back of a '66. Not mine.

Those are exactly what I am talking about. And I have found the lug nuts. Or another board member found them for me. They are 1/2 -20 with external threads, these cant be found at any parts store that I know of. The factory lug nuts are metric. Good thing there is a conversion nut made.

Re: Pics of Chevy HD aluminum wheels on 67-72

These wheels are 16x7. They look good in my opinion, but you know what they say about those. I picked mine up cheap so I dont have to worry about messing them up or anything. Also I have plans for new wheels in the future. I say new I would like to have a set of original wheels and hubcaps. But those are gonna cost quite a bit to get them powdercoated and the caps straightened and polished. Plus I will always have a set of winter wheels. New shiny wheels have the awesome ability of polishing any turd. And mine truck needs all it can get right now

What is a reasonable price to be paying for used rims of the style pictured above?

Re: Pics of Chevy HD aluminum wheels on 67-72

I paid 200$ for wheels and caps. I have seen them for a little less but passed on them. Good old Craigslist has them in my area every now and then. Ebay is alot higher, more like 400 for a set. There are a few sets on there that have been polished though.

I just read your post and am putting those same style wheels on my 71 gmc 4x4. Where can I find the correct lug nuts? Thanks.

Re: Pics of Chevy HD aluminum wheels on 67-72

I used those on my 74 K20, and I used mag wheel collared nuts. I drilled the holes bigger, and a 1/4 spacer is all that's needed. I used 1/2 inch to put the wheels out more like stock.

Eventually I will get the center bore opened up to use a standard slip through cap like mag wheels did.

For the caps I will open up the center bore to use the old style slip through cap.

Do You Guys & Gals Think That These Will Fit My 71 C 20
16" X 8" rims
Bolt spacing: 8 x 170
Just Wondering About The Bolt Spacing
Came off of a 2000 Ford F-350.
Thank You

That bolt spacing will not fit unless you swap in 1999+ ford front and rear ends. You need 8 on 6.5".

Re: Pics of Chevy HD aluminum wheels on 67-72

The rims look like cragar soft 8 which are cheap.Like said in 99 ford changed its lug pattern to a metric one but the older fords 98 back will do.Gm truck you want 2010 and older 2011 gm changed the 8 lug pattern also.See if you can find the hd rims like shown or the h2 rims will work also.

No problem,If you get bored look up cragar soft 8 or d window on summit racing. They are steel rims come in a ton of sizes and bolt patterns and are cheap.
