is this a hard seal to replace? is it expensive? and uhm, whats it called,so i can do a part lookup?

Re: front of transfercase leaking after frontend replacement

I changed the front seal and gasket of the NP205 while it was still in my truck. I had to remove the front axle/u-joint and then tackle the output shaft nut...with a impact air wrench. The nut needed to be removed so that the output housing cover could be removed. But it was all done while the t.c. was in the truck.

I guess it depends on what your t.c. is, also.

Humm, Output shaft seal and if it smells like gear oil you may want to drain it and fill with 10-40w motor oil.
