1967 paint code help

Hi guys. I'm a little stumped on my 67 paint code. I'm in the process of stripping the truck and I'm finding blue paint on the grill and the drip rails. I always thought that my truck was white on the exterior and blue on the interior but now I'm finding blue paint on the outside. Can anyone figure it out? The code is 4521 BA. Thanks

Re: 1967 paint code help

According to post #16 here, your truck was supposed to be white on the outside and and medium blue inside:

Does the vin match the vin on the truck? Does it look like its been messed with?

Blue on the drip rails could have been from overspray from the interior painting? Not sure about the grille. maybe it was swapped. Have you found white anywhere on the outside?

Re: 1967 paint code help

By the way, my truck has almost literally the exact same SPID, mine was Ivory with blue interior, yours was white with blue interior, both straight 6 shortbed stepsides built in st. louis, mine was built 3,957 trucks ahead of yours!

The pic is the remake ChipFlyer did for me years ago. I kept my original (barely readable) and put the sticker on a glove box I picked up from a different truck... and 10 years later I notice an error... the "3" in the middle of my Serial # is supposed to be an "S". Crap.

Re: 1967 paint code help

Thanks a lot guys. Yes that other post did answer my questions. The blue on the drip rails must have been over spray and my grill must have been swapped out at some time in it's life. Again thanks for the help.

That's really cool. There wasn't a lot of options on our trucks. A part of me still wishes that I still had the 6 and 3 ott. But the 408 that I have in there now sure is fun! I really like how your truck looks now though.

Re: 1967 paint code help

Pfffft, my truck is "loaded" now! I did the same thing. Power disc brakes, 350/700R4, A/C. It was still wearing it's original paint when I got it, except the front clip was swapped for one that was green and about 10 colors underneath (was in minor accident before I got it.)

Every once in a while I miss the old 250 and 3 OTT.
