Anyone have experience with auto reset circuit breakers?
Recently, my Entropy Radiator cooling fans have started blowing fuses when on high speed. I contacted Entropy and told them about my problem, I guess rather than going through a warranty claim through them, they told me to wire in some resettable circuit breakers in place of my existing blade fuses.
Does anyone have any experience with these? I ordered two 40 amp type 1 (auto reset) circuit breakers.

Personally I don't like the auto-reset as they can keep re-energizing a circuit that has a short or an overload problem, potentially causing a fire.

That is what I was thinking too. I am wondering why Entropy would suggest that? I do believe the fuses are blowing when I leave the A/C on when I turn the truck off and leave it on when I start the truck. Maybe the huge amount of amps needed by the fan at high speed is just too much at startup?

Re: Anyone have experience with auto reset circuit breakers?
Yeah, you need more of a slow-blow type fuse or a fuseable link. That is a problem with fan controllers that are simply using a temp switch as an on/off. Fans draw a lot of amps as they spin up. That is one reason why I have moved to the controllers from DC Controls - they bring the fan speed up slowly so you don't get the amp spikes.
