CA WTB: Single Wall upper door seal metal holder - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hi All,

Looking for the L/H & R/H metal strips that hold the upper door seal to the top... Hopefully not bent. Pic attached.. Too bad someone does not start making these but I guess the Single Wall top community is not that big... Also, if anyone knows what size screws that hold them in, that would be awesome.

Hey AJ,
I don’t have any single wall top retainers to part with but I can answer the question of attachment and fastener as well as give you a bump.

The metal weather stripping retainers are held on to the top with continuous mastic and #8 coarse thread screws. They are a 1/2 inch long and gold Chromate coated. There are 5 per side.

Thank you PDXK5... That helps alot as I have not seen them in person and was wondering if I should try to find a similar screw but I think this is probably a McMaster special and I will have to try them.

I have been searching craigslist near and far for any single wall in bad condition that someone may want to separate those parts from but none so far... Man, I really don't want to just stick a bunch of glue on the rubber and hope for the best. I want to keep this clean just like the rest of the truck.
