Factory rear bumper?

This is the rear bumper on my 69 c10. Is this a original by bumper?

Possibly dealer installed/early aftermarket. I've never seen that teardrop style before. Different, I like it.

It's designed to allow the tailgate to swing all the way straight down if one disconnects the straps. Agree w/panelman, probably a dealer install.

Thank you. I didn't like it at first but now it's kinda growing on me.

Re: Factory rear bumper?

I forget what they call those, drop gate... drop-out gate... drop-down gate? I like them for what they are being a period accessory, handy with purpose. But back then when they were a choice, I didn't like them. Not very kind to tailgate paint or worse and you basically lose the back bumper making the tailgate vulnerable there, too. It was always easy enough to grab a ratchet & 9/16 socket to remove the tailgate completely if it ever was actually in the way. I wasn't hauling bulk you had to shovel or fork out, which I think is what they are all about. That or unloading livestock down a ramp. Basically an ag option for rancher/farmers' like high sides.

We had a member buy this truck just as is. It could use a bumper like that.
