Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10

Thanks Ryan! I have the double adjustable one from CPP on the truck now, but it's the one that connects to the rear end. I like that the PB piece connects to the control arm and relocates the frame mount. Should produce less side-to-side movement no matter how much pressure I have in my rear bags.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10

I have a very small update, but an update none the less... I installed a new radiator cover from LMC truck. I think it helps finish off the front of the engine bay.

And I took a pic of the GTO and C10 just because I could.

Thanks! Radiator Cover (Paintable) - Part #: 38-1896 But if Kyle sells these now (he sells the filler panels) I'd recommend purchasing from him. Great customer service and prices.

You sell the radiator covers now? Last I checked, just the filler panels, which I don't think you sold when I got mine.... I would have bought the cover from you if I knew.

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10

So this isn't really an update, but more of a relay of information... Good info, but is probably going to be long...

Some of you probably noticed, or have read that I have a Craftec tonneau cover. Well it's been raining here a lot lately and I've finally gotten tired of having to open the cover to keep the rain from stretching the vinyl so bad. I don't want it to rip because of all the water weight. I know it will take a lot, but having seen what can happen, I've been opening the cover to avoid ruining it. Yep, the truck is outside all the time...

Anyway, I called Craftec today to see about getting a couple more bows to support the vinyl more, and their customer service was AWESOME!!! I spoke with Eric and he told me they want their customers to enjoy their covers so they don't put very much mark up on their replacement parts. He said it was common for some to ask for 1 or 2 more to add to their covers, and the cover should be able to handle the rain just fine. He has 2 outside for the last couple of years and earlier today had a customer who was replacing the vinyl after 15 YEARS!!

Ok, so now for the best part. He asked if I knew how to adjust the frame to take up some of the slack in the vinyl, to which I said I did, but have a corner piece that has stripped out and will not allow me to tighten it down in the stretched position. He said that it has a lifetime warranty and he would send me a new corner at no charge! So I'm getting two extra bows, the brackets and hardware, shipped to me for $30... and a free corner replacement! I love it when companies have pride in their product and treat their customers well. I'd definitely recommend their cover to anyone in the market for a soft bed cover. Great people located here in Texas!

I was extremely careful this time. It all worked out so I continued to install the frontrunner. Enough with the words. On to the pics...

I also used braided wire wrap on the radiator and heater hoses, like I did with the wiring, steering hoses and vacuum hoses.

Now I need to do the new spark plug wires, fill the power steering pump and bleed the system, and install the dual electric fans I had laying in the garage from my GTO. I'm about to start looking for a relay diagram for the fans.

I'm so glad I got that damn tap out! What a relief

I know it's an older post, but this is awesome. I have been wondering what to do for the hose covers. Not a huge fan of the SS braid cover for hoses. I now know what I'll be doing!

Re: Knomadd '71 SWB C-10

Thanks! It was a pain in the butt to put on the upper radiator hose with all the curves, so I'd suggest buying a larger diameter sleeve. I don't remember which size I used (1.75" or 2") but it was the minimum size I could use. Also, just like the stainless stuff, it holds dirt, so be prepared to clean it once in a while. Other than that, I really like the look. I bought split loom for the wiring, and sleeving for the hoses.

New year, new phase of the project...

I ordered the Pro2 Air Management kit from Pro Performance, with the PB brackets and (2) 3 gallon tanks, SwitchSpeed controller and black compressors. This should be fun!
