New to squares

Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy my first square body to be my daily driver. I'm wanting an 87 for fuel injection and overdrive. 4wd is a must where I live because this truck will be driven in the snow.

Here's the truck I'm currently looking at. What do you all think it's worth? The owner tells me it needs rockers, cab corners, and front inner fenders as well as some work on the lower bed sides - "as far as he knows". I'm thinking if that's the extent I could fix the rust and 2 tone it (likely gray below the molding like in the last picture) so I wouldn't have to match the red or paint the entire truck.

Re: New to squares

I think the hardest part is finding a nice 87 1/2 ton 4x4. It looks like rust above the wheel openings as well. It is all fixable with talent. I think you will find more on the floorboards and under the front window. I know I did. I'm thinking 2500-4500 as it sits. Good luck!!

Re: New to squares

It looks like it was well cared for if it runs good I would go for it. Check for cracks around the steering box area, and cracks around the upper rear shock mounts.
