03 Chevy trouble codes

hey guys. Maybe somebody can help me out here... me and a couple of buds were cruisin down the highway in his 2003 Chevy 3/4ton 6.0L when all of a sudden we lost power, and the engine light came up. Almost all power was lost, the system went into Limp-Home-Mode. We pulled over, and he has a scan tool with him (great idea!) and ran the codes. These came up:

C0055 (No Shift, Speedometer problem or something)
P1516 (Throttle Actuator Control)

Now, I guess a little bit ago my buddy was installing a sub in his truck and drilled into a couple wires. Not wanting to mess things up, he took it to the local GM dealership to have the wires fixed, mainly so if anything wrong, well a technician did it! point fingers!

Anyways, I want to know more about this Throttle Actuator Control deal, and the C0055 code, and what the heck set them off at random? Any help would be awesome, thanks guys.

Re: 03 Chevy trouble codes

Throttle Actuator Control is the fly by wire way that they are doing the throttle, it doesn't have a throttle cabe. could have something wrong with that actuator or the switch that controls it, which would cause your loss of power and this code could cause the other code to come on. good luck!
