Groved brake rotors - how to tell factory groves from just worn out?
I had a bit of noise from my right front wheel, so I took a look at the brake, and sure enough, there's a grove about 1/4" wide and 1/4" deep worn into the rotor. I figured it was shot and it's time to order new front rotors, but then I saw on the forum that some OEM rotors had groves from the factory. Any tips for how to tell if this is the case here, or if it's just wear and tear on the rotor?

My 68 has that groove in them, I think there is a min. thickness that you check, but i'm not sure what it is.
Maybe some one will post what it is?

The factory groove should be a V groove, not flat bottom groove. The idea was that when the rotor was turned for smoothness and trueness, if a line was still there, the rotor was good. No line one or the other side, the rotor was scrapped.
