69 C10 Helper bags 4"drop

Hi All

I'm looking to drop the back of my C10 4"'s but I still need to use it as a truck. I'm looking at the Classic Performance Lowering Coil Springs RCS603-4 4" drop springs and I'd like to put an Air Lift 1000 Load Assist Rear Spring Kit in it however the only part number I could find when searching is the 60811 kit but I think it is for stock springs.

Does anyone know the part number for the correct kit? Or can anyone recommend another way of achieving the same results for $200 or so?

Thanks
Chris

I’ve looked into doing too. Andy 4639 has written about it.

Re: 69 C10 Helper bags 4"drop

I found that thread fairly early on, however Andy4639 didn't mention using the Air Lift 60811 kit with 4" drop springs and I don't know if it makes a difference.

You'll have to do the drop first to order the right kit. Then use this link: https://www.airliftcompany.com/works...ir-spring-kit/
Just measured my front springs this morning to do the same and found them at Summit.

Re: 69 C10 Helper bags 4"drop

I put the CPP 4" HD drop coil springs in the back of my '72 C15 and they let me use my truck like a truck. They are way better than the flimsy drop coils you get.

I'm GMC and put heavy duty leafs from General Spring with a DJM flip kit. Putting helper bags in the front to keep up! (Rides) Like a Rock, Hauls Like a Champ!

Thumbs up Re: 69 C10 Helper bags 4"drop

If you have looked at my signature line it tells you the kit info. If you call air lift and give them the inside diameter and how tall your springs are they will get you the right bags. Yes my truck has 4" lowering springs in back and 3" in front.

"After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs."

I have them in all for of the springs on my 71 C 10 and it rides like it's on air!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!

Re: 69 C10 Helper bags 4"drop

My project '67 has 4/6 drop. I don't want to c-notch and want to be able to haul and tow. I was thinking I could replace the springs with bags that fit in place of coils. Don't those have some sort of load carrying ability? I know they can be made to handle various load rates, but big rigs run air bags-only. I'm not needing to haul much, but don't want to bottom out with the slightest load, either. I figure air them up to tow or haul. Could give the truck some rake when empty, too. I like level and I like a rake for the era look. Am I wrong in my thinking?
