Re: Chevy Grille Year(s) ???

I'm guesstimating 1977-79.

Re: Chevy Grille Year(s) ???

I'm nit-picking, but the diesel emblem makes it '78-'79.

Much appreciated guys.

Next question: Will this grille fit and bolt into the grille area of a 1975 Chevy C10 without any cutting or tab relocations? I did some initial measurements and it appears it will. I'm giving this grille to a friend of mine as a gift and I just want to make sure it'll fit in his '75.

That's what I thought as well, hence the measuring of both grilles. The grille I purchased is in near mint condition. All mounting tabs are in tact and not broken. I think a new OEM/NOS grille would cost upwards of $250-$300. And I only paid $8 for it. You gotta love Craigslist.

Thanks everyone for your input and qualifications.

Re: Chevy Grille Year(s) ???

You may run into trouble with the hood release. I think '75-'76 used a different handle. I know for sure that a '75 grill doesn't fit well in a '77 because of the release handle.

Hmmm. I'll check out the hood release cut out area of the grille when my friend visits me again. Worse case scenario, I'll break out the Dremel Tool, then we should be good. Thanks for catching this.

Yeah, pretty sure that you will only have to cut a little whole at the top of it for the hood release.....

Re: Chevy Grille Year(s) ???

Actually that grille can fit into 1980 trucks as well... If it has the inside the cab hood release.

Good to know. I know that the 1975 hood release is on the outside, unlike the 1981-87s.
