It Lives! Well, kinda.....
After yesterday's trouble with the HEI, I got out today and got another one. Stuck it in, wired it all up, eyeballed the timing, primed the carb, got in, turned the key, and........Vroooooommm!!!!!
Only problem now is the carb. It was a good one before, but not now. Gas coming out every crevice, inside and out. Shut down. OH well, it was a glorius five seconds or so, first time the thing has had a running engine in twelve years. Tomorrow, I dig out a Q jet and start rebuilding Delays, delays...... JB |

I know the feeling, one step forward two steps backward. But it's worth it in the end when everthing is right.

OK,
Q jet installed, and it runs nice! Lots of adjustments to make, but it runs!Now I gotta get to work on the doors, and finish welding a couple small spots on the tub, and get to work cleaning more parts. I figure about two weeks of mucking around, and I can start paint prep. I am really undecided about the interior though. I have all original seats in the shed, but the fronts badly need recovering. I could do that myself, but I of course would have to buy the covers, and then what to do for seat belts? I did have in mind some newer buckets, and was also looking at the 02 seats with the built in belts. The decision will affect all the rest of the interior, carpeting or rubber flooring, If I go with the originals I will go black, but newer seats, I will look for a nice tan. The Blazer will be painted the original color, light red. Too much thinking to do, I just want to drive it to 7-11, is that too much to ask?  JB |

They have 7-11 in Canada? I thought it might be 6-10 or something...hehe Just kidding...
It sounds like it is really coming along. Every little thing, gets more and more exciting...keep us posted... maybe a pic to feed the hungry wolves...like myself..

Gee Emm I thought you were just the most knowledgable person when it came to metal working, and fabrication....but I was wrong, you also know the most about what quickie marts people frequent the most
