Well i got the balzer evaluated it and cut it up ! got my self a rebuildable tub and had the frame sand blasted . hope to get the frame painted this weekend and the tub on by the next . Here is some pics hope you like them . I still cant find a solid windshield frame and i could sure use one , it is realy starting to drive me crazy .I will probably wind up fixing mine .

Well i wasnt happy with what my blasting guy did so i pulled the suspension and brought it back to him so he could get the underside . i use a paint called chasis saver the por15 wasnt available in satin black gallons at the place i buy my paint . The tub gets a fresh coat to the under side and it will be on the frame by sunday . The last three night ive worked till midnight but i love to see the progress i am makin still have a long way to go .

Well i finished up the paint on the frame sun night did not turn out as nice as i hoped but it almost never does for me . i assembled the suspension and gave it a final coat . I ran into a snag on mounting the new tub. On the 72 the rear cross member was notched for the frame but on the new one it wasnt so i guess i got to put in a body lift . It is probably gonna be a hockey puck speacial but what you gonna do . I want it done so i can get her bach in the shed so i can start the windshield frame . No pics of her mounted yet maybe tomorrow . posted a pic of the rear cross member you guys think it was a 2wd or did the earlier blazers not have a notch . i just figured it was easyiest to put in a body lift cause im not cutting the tub or the frame .

Well i didnt get the underside of thr tub painted so i guess i will go with under coat after its all done . I finished bolting it bown and got it home . I hope tp start the wind shield prame rebiuld tonight . heres a couple pics .

Ya i got held up in progress beacause of the notch not bieng in the new tubs rear cross member so i decided to put in a small bodylift .

Well got the winshield frame pieces all stripped and ready to assemble after i sand blast them . i am gonna por15 the inside before it goes back together . I used the drivers side post and complete front driprail from a 72 gmc parts truck . A few minor mods and it fits like a glove . Man it is a whole lotta pieces in the frame its made up of about three or four layers at the ends .

How hard was it pulling the window frame out? Because I have to do mine after I pull the front clip...

What kind of shape was the rear cross member with the notches on your '72. Could you remove that and put it on your new tub? I believe GeeEmm fabricated the notches in a 69-71 rear cross member.

east end it all depends on what you are replacing . if you can avoid pulling the entire frame do so . I replaced the whole thing cause the tub i bought didnt have one . By the way did you know the guy who was selling the nos blazer sides ? he lived on long island . I would realy like to get in touch with him . last time i tried his son replied and said his parents split and his dad moved to lake placid or something .
Huskerboy2 ; i didnt put the notches in to save time i just thought it was faster to put in a 2inch body lift . I think i had enough work to do .

By the way got the windshield frame sand blasted gonna coat the inside with por the put it together .

well its pieced together and test fitted . I got to find some muscle to help me get the top on before i weld it in full . it is realy nerveracking just eyeballing this frame in place but it realy does seem to fit well , excuse me if i sound amazed i guess you just dont know what you can do till you try .hope some of this helps some of you rust belt boys .
