MY6 hurst shifter problems
I have an a833/np440/my6 transmission and shifter from a van in my 68. I had to modify the lever because it wanted to be inside the dash in it's original shape. When I assembled it all together on a bench it seemed to shift pretty good but now that it's in the truck I sometimes have trouble getting into the 1-2 slot, especially after downshifting from 3rd or 4th. It usually just takes a minute or so of wiggling around to get it in but I was wondering if there was an adjustment I need to make to help it out. I'm not a transmission guru so any advice will be appreciated.

Re: MY6 hurst shifter problems
You need to align the gates.
Like in this vid. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ErcSjrxB3J4 Your shifter is likely similar. You can use a 1/4 inch drill bit if you need to in the alignment hole. |

Re: MY6 hurst shifter problems
Great, thanks. I'll give it a try this weekend.
