Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

Here's my 98.Truck was my dads new and when he passed away I couldn't bear to see my mom sell it to someone else. It only had 31,000 miles on it when I got it in 2004 and it has 74,... on it now. It lives a very pampered life.

Oh! I love those wheels too!

Any idea what the specs are (width, offset and tire size)? I am working on my father in-laws ’93 C1500 Sportside giving it a monochromatic makeover with bumper covers, painted grill, mirrors, slight drop….you now the usual sport truck treatment. But, we need wheels! I dig the appearance and fitment of this Coys! Thx

I don't, the tires look like a 275/45/20, this truck used to be a member on fullsizechevy(if I remember correctly) but it looked totally different, he was going for a rat rod look and sold it, then somebody pointed it out to him that was his old truck or something, regardless hoping my truck looks like that one day except fleet side.

btw here's coys website with there width and offsets

Thanks buddy!

Those Coys are cool although I am interested in the American Racing Torque Thrust M Anthracite well. Probably go with 18” but my biggest concern is with the offset as we do not want the wheels sticking out past the wheel wells.

Here is a terrible picture of the project truck. My father in-law bought it in 1994 with 10K miles. It now has 90K miles. 4.3L 5speed.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

Short version, I rear-ended somebody. And anytime you rear-end somebody, it's your fault.

Long version: I was in the second lane from the right, on the interstate at rush hour. I had left a nice cushion between me and the car in front of me. There were two cars up ahead, on the shoulder with their flashers going. Everybody in the right lane was getting over to make room for the cars on the shoulder. A Ranger passed me on the right, then jumped into the spot in front of me -- there goes my cushion. As she did that, the cars on the shoulder started merging back out into traffic, slowly. I saw the cars in front of me slow down, and I slowed down too...then I glanced away to scan up ahead and see what was happening. Then, when I looked back, the cars ahead of me had continued to slow down, for some reason. The lady in the Ranger (who I hit) said the cars in front of her stopped in the middle of the interstate. She told me she didn't think it was my fault, and told the trooper the same thing...but like I said before, anytime you rear-end somebody, it's your fault. I didn't get a ticket, at least. But I only have liability insurance, so fixing it was all on me. I was ready to replace that cowl hood anyway

Well look at the bright side - nobody got hurt, and looks like there wasn't much to replace on the truck. But what matters, is that nobody was hurt.

Iha1992.....

Any luck replacing your grill with a new GM ?? I heard they are not easy to find.

I'm going to repaint mine in Florida & replace my exterior plastic pieces with OEM if possible.

(Any suggestions for a shop near Bradenton Fla?)

Hey, well with the grill i'm going with aftermarket that looks like the OEM. Its between $60 and $80 depending on where you get it. My friend who is doing the painting said that the aftermarkets fit really good, almost like the original. I wanted to get a OEM and you can still find them but they cost anywhere from $200 on up to $350 and I don't have that money to spend because my truck has other stuff that needs to be tinkered with.

Now, the only things I am going OEM with are the side moldings, wheel arches and weatherstripping. I'm getting a deal on those things because my friend has a whole sale license with the local GM dealership so I can get them for 20% off! But its still costing like $400 total for that stuff but hey its OEM. I coulda got the molding from LMC but I've heard bad stories so I didn't want to risk it and then having to remove them and possibly ruin my new paint.

BTW, I really don't know of any shops down in Florida to repaint your truck. Might want to talk to some of the members here who live down there on suggestions or maybe post a thread in the Florida section part of the forum asking about a shop to get it repainted. Oh yeah, you truck still looks great! Hard to think its got 300K on it!!
