72 1/2 Ton rear drum brake assembly?

I purchased what I need to assemble the rear brakes on my rebuild project.
I have a 1972 Chassis. I purchased the wheel cylinders, shoes, spring kit, adjuster kit and drums.

I do have my old '67 axle setup to use as a guide. I'm not sure if the green spring included (see pic) is incorrect or not. It should go on the adjuster but does not seem to have the right bends as my '67 setup does

Also, the other three items seem to be 'extra'
I know the silver sleeve (2nd from left) goes in place of the LH pin, but I cannot see where item #1 and #3 or #4 go

I know I need to ket the plungers for either side of the wheel cylinders as well as a parking brake setup...

Any insight?

i think the c-clip is used to retain the parking brake lever to the brake shoe//also looks as if your missing a long flat bar thing with a spring on it that mounts above the axel and goes between yhe 2shoes//your brake shoes don't look right they usually arent the same size

also the pin spring that hols the right brakeshoe and adjuster arm is too low it should be higher//also theres sopposed to be a t--thing at the main anchor pin (the one at the 12oclock position


the green spring i believe is for the bottom of the brake shoes it spans in back of the self adjuster and starwheel

There is only one way to install those pins. maybe once I put another shoe on there, that will look better.

yes, I need a clip that goes over the 12 O'Clock pin as well. I have those on my '67 axle I can salvage.

big shoe to the front///the 67 should be identical and parts interchangeable

I'm thinking I'll disassemble one side of my '67 axle to get a better look at the parking brake setup.

Can I use the parking brake brackets from my '67 axle on my '72 axle?

Good call on the shoes. Each shoe is identical, but two have a longer pad surface then the others. Can you tell me if the shorter pad surface goes on the left or right in my first pic?

The pic is of the LH side of the truck in case you can't tell...

look at jugernots rear brake post to see how adjuster should line up with the star wheel

that little cup retainer is important it goes on the adjusterarm where the pinand spring goes and allows the armto pivot correctly

I can see how when I swap out the rear show, it will line up better.

I see that my green spring isn't close to being correct.

I do thave the cup retainer in place on the adjuster arm, the spare one will go on the front shoe when I re-assemble.

OK. I ended up using the parking brake brackets off of my '67 setup.
I have the proper shoes in place now.
The Silver spring I had on the bottom in the first pic was incorrect, the green spring goes there and the silver ended up on the adjuster bracket.
