Where did you get the rear bag set-up? Is it a ridetech AOL kit?

Did I right that you did not notch the frame? I picked up a 78 and I was noticing tonight as I unloaded it off the trailer that if I put the axle on top of the leafs there would be almost no clearance to the frame???

Initialy i thought the same thing but if your not going to tow anything then you will be alright but if you plan on loading it down then yes you will need a notch. the only down side is that they dont make one specific to the suburban and you will have to make a custom one or modify one to fit. I was going to do one like this.

No i havent ran the lines yet. but i will be getting a shop to do them. My neighbor just got his done and they charged him 65 bucks. so depending on how long the hoses are it should be cheap.

Cherub,

What did you do for the fan set-up now that the WP is rotating in reverse? I started thinking about it today & assume a mech fan from a serp set-up is req'd (which I mat/may-not still have from my swap parts).

Still waiting on my brackets. They should arrive tomorrow according to tracking....

exactly you have to use a fan from a serp setup of the same year model. Im glad i found that out before i put it into use. My only concern is that it wont move enough air for this 454. We shall see though. Im just waiting to get the 3" exhaust put on before i start driving it again.

Yep, I confirmed the fan pitch-direction was different the other night by comparing the OE BBC fan to the SBC/4.6 serp fan. I'm digging around now for info on the biggest fan/clutch combo (searching for something like out of a BBC serp burb/SS454 or similar).

Re: Cherubs Burban Project

Man that's a sweet burb!

That's exactly the way I want to put one together, and I agree that that the only change needed from what you've done already is swap out the mirrors. I think the wheel size is dead on man.

Re: Cherubs Burban Project

Do you have any detailed pictures of the passenger side rear AOL mount? I am in the middle of installing my ridetech AOL kit on my flipped rear suburban and cannot quite figure it out. I am having clearance issues with the upper bag mount/axle/shock. I see the pictures of the drivers side on yours in this thread and they helped a ton. Any help is greatly appriciated.

That sounds good, thanks a ton.

I was thinking about grinding a little on the lower bag mount to get it the clear the shock, it's good to confirm that that's what you did too. She's just a little tight on the pass. side

came out pretty good for my first one. I used this video when finding out the process for "headliner Repair". Took me 3 cans of high heat headliner adhesive and 5 yards of foam backed headliner material. All in all about 100 bucks in materials. Eventually when time and money permit ill take the moldings down and hit them with some interior trim paint
