4l80e front seal leaking steady drip

I just got my ls swap made, installed 4l80e and it pours fluid. I made the duel feed on this 80, just in case I missed something. I read where it should hold 14 quarts, well I poured 3 gallons in, checking after each gallon. I put to much and it came out of overflow vent. I learned a lesson never pour when not turning. But anyway I pulled 80 out and cant see anything wrong with seal, pulled it out and bushing looks good. Any ideas ? Maybe since it was overfull it pushed out front seal rubber?

Re: 4l80e front seal leaking steady drip

Whats the history of the transmission ? Was it rebuilt, used...etc... pull the pump out and put a new bushing, pump gasket, pump o-ring, bolt gaskets/seals....did the bushing walk itself out to the front seal ? after installing the new bushing into the pump body, fit it onto the TC before installing the front seal into the pump body to make sure it fits right....not to tight.... Is this a new TC ? Check the TC hub area where the bushing and front seal ride for wear...please provide a pic of the old front seal and bushing...thanks.

I was told it was rebuilt , but I opened it up to inspect. Everything looked new. I put new seals and gaskets when I put it back together. Torque converter is used , but it is smooth where the seal/ bushing are rubbing it. I will try to get pictures. Bushing is flush with pump like it should be.

Fluid will pour out of the front seal when it is over full. Get the fluid to where it should be and see what happens

Since the converter was used, I'm sure it still had fluid in it. It's impossible to get all the fluid out of the converter unless you drill holes in it.
