Swap meets/car shows in louisiana?
I live in SE Louisiana and am fairly new to the hot rod scene. My dad grew up racing and building cars and now that I'm able to afford to get into the hot rod world I was wondering if anyone knew of any swap meets around my area. I know they have a show in Ponchatoula on the 29th. I'm sure people there can guide me more to some shows and meets. Any help is greatly appreciated! I've got the fever!

Yea that's all I've found too Geezer. Might take a road trip to one of those big swap meets in fort worth or something like that one weekend. any suggestions?

Do a search online. I found a publication in Houston (don't remember the name ) and again in Atlanta "Ragtops and Runningboards" and now in NC "Cruising Carolinas". There's probably an equivalent in your area. Once you make it to a show or two, there will usually be people putting flyers in the cars that have windows down.

ChaseBBC, there is a huge swap meet in at Dallas Speedway this weekend ! Look it up, Its called Pate Swap Meet ! You better hurry though, i think it starts on Wednesday !

Check out the Golden Oldies Car Club in Hammond, La. Their cruise night is the second Saturday of every month, March thru November. It's in the parking lot near JC Penny at the mall. Usually 150-200 cars. Also check out Ramblin' Oldies of Denham Springs. They will have Baton Rouge car show info. There is also a car guy breakfast at the Corner Café in Ponchatoula by the railroad tracks and the alligator pen. It's every Saturday 7am. usually around 20-30 guys and if the weather is good, they will also bring their cars. you're invited. See ya' there.
