A very basic thing I wish I had done.

I wish I had kept a "truck rebuild diary." I could have bought a journal type book, preferably same color as my truck, and wrote what I did each day and what I thought about it.

I did this for each of my 35 skydives, it's pretty neat to read. I did it also every day of my 1997 trip to India.....

That's a great idea.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I like the journal idea. That and pictures. I wish I had the discipline to write everything down and take pictures of everything I've done. Maybe it's time to buckle down and turn over a new leaf?

Re: A very basic thing I wish I had done.

Thanks guys. I think I'll take my own advice and start a truck journal. I love to write and I have to tell you, sitting down and writing out the day's events and your emotions does help you to sleep at night. I used to do this every evening before bed for years.

Re: A very basic thing I wish I had done.

I hadn't thought of it that way Ten Ring as I sure have the days events playing out in my head sometimes at night.
I went to Africa and kept a journal for that trip. I didn't do a very good job as I am not used to sitting and writing the events but wish I had done a better job.
I get busy on my projects and dont do very good documentation. I am trying to get better as I am working on my Camaro and with these cell phones we usually have a camera close.

Great idea. Just wanted to add, Im sure most of us are using a smart phone and there are lots of apps for a daily journal that also let you add pictures. Great idea Ten Ring.

Re: A very basic thing I wish I had done.

Yeah, I visit the local parts store about every 3 to 4 weeks since I sold my '68 Skylark GS and only have the truck. It used to be up to several times in a week. The truck's going to be seeing some cash thrown at it this year, once I heal from my hand surgery. Rebuild the engine, fix the AC, miscellaneous after that. Rebuilt the front end (with new disc brakes), rebuilt rear brakes and a new camper shell, so far. Oh, and new tires and shocks on it (already installed). I guess I should replace the rear leaf springs- I can see that some leaves are wearing pretty badly. Good thing I got it for free...
