Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pics #1 and #2. Just different views, it is fairly low profile and should not be overly noticeable.

Pic #3. View from inside cab with primer on it.

Pic #4. Shot of dash with primer.

Pic #5. This is what you would see from out side truck.

NOTE: The dash will painted the same color as interior (light tan, as will the transponder) so should kinda blend in..

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pic #1. The bed all stripped down and ready for repairs etc.

Pic #2. Stripping revealed this....The stack pocket was badly damaged at some point in it's early life as a farm truck, So they mudded over it.

Pic #3. a second view.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pic #1. When I first thought how I was going to fix the pocket I figured I would just cut it out and make new pieces for it, but after I removed the piece I wanted to try and Hammer it out.

Pic #2. View from backside.

Pic #3. Another shot.

Pic #4. After the hammering was done and welded back in place.

Pic #5 2nd view

I missed a few things in my downtime, Mark.

It's looking great, and you have some nice ideas to certain things!

Nice work. How much time to strip the box?

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

YJ....It took probably most of the day.
The paint was giving me fits coming off! I started with aircraft stripper and followed by the wire wheel. I then switched gears and used a paint stripping wheel for my electric grinder and it seemed to work the best.

Pic #1. This was after some filing was done and a bit of metal finish. Small amount of poly filler and she will look as good as new.

Pic #2. 2nd view.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Hey Guy's! Been awhile with posting, was pretty busy working on fixing up a house and finally got it to where I could move in.
Anyway here is some pics...

Pic #1. Passenger side end cap tacked in place.

Pic #2. After metal work was done.

Pic #3. Hard to see in this shot but the Drivers side was badly distorted.

Pic #4. The template showing the distortion.

Thank's Guy's!!!

Pic #1. This is after the metal work was done.

Pic #2. This is the Drivers side front and would require some Hammer/Dolly.

Pic #3. After repairs and metal finish.

Pic #4. Passenger side is badly warped, so will need some TLC...

Pic #5. After the repairs were done and metal finished.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Thank's guys..

Pic #1. This was a simple idea for the tailgate latch, nothing fancy but works great.

Pic #2. The other side.

Pic #3. This is the Drivers side lower stake pocket. I wanted to seal it up but add some shape to it ,so this was the starting point.

Pic #4. This was the passenger side in progress.

Till next time..
