2'' Drop Shackle

I want to level my 87 Silverado LWB with shackles. N2TRUX said that I would have to check the length of my springs and bed brace for clearence. Can somebody show me how it should look and how to cut the brace?

Tim

Hey Tim,

Yes, you have to trim the bed brace. The drop shackle is longer and will come in contact with the bed brace when it moves through the travel of the leaf spring.... if not cut. I have cut the bed brace on my truck, and will snap a picture for you tomorrow.

Re: 2'' Drop Shackle

Here is a picture. My shackle is back really far, because I have air bags on my truck. The air is all let you, so the 1 leaf spring I have is all the way straightened out, and axle up into the c-notch. When it is raised, it does come closer to that brace. Hope this helps.

Probably didn't have to notch that much, but I did it with the bed off. I would trim half that and check clearance. If you need more, trim as needed.
