Motor mount help for 77 crossmember in 66 c10 using 94 clamshell engine mounts

What modification am I to do, keeping same motor mounts that came with 77 crossmember and installed in 66 c10. Also using 94 clamshell engine mounts. Thanks in advance.

If you use the frame brackets from the '77 C10, you will need a spacer on top of the frame about 1" tall. The C20 and C30 frame brackets fit the early frames much better. Some guys still use a 1/4" spacer on top of the frame.

Thanks, Captain fab. Would any welding be needed for the 1 inch spacer?

No you do not have to weld it. Just sandwich it between the engine mount bracket and the top flange of the frame.

i did a very similar thing your asking about. 1964 c10 with a 1977 c10 crossmember. 1999 vortec 350 with clamshell mounts. I mounted the 77 c10 perches, and as captain said, they are too tall, by about 1 inch. I didnt like the look of a spacer, so i cut each perch in half, removed the necessary amount of material, and tig welded it back together. fits like a glove now
