Door seal weather stripping and lug nut Q's

I'm going to be replacing the door to cab weather stripping on my '79 C30. Noticed that a good portion of it is glued onto the cab. What sort of glue/sealer should I use to reinstall?

An since I'm here, anyone have a good source for chrome or zinc plated lug nuts? I painted them white with the wheels, but running 'em on with the impact chips the paint off of course, and it's a pain to do touch up.

I keep an eye on amazon, last time I got a box of 100 bulk packed McGuards for ~$46cdn.

Re: Door seal weather stripping and lug nut Q's

I just installed 1A Auto weatherstrip kit in my 79 C10 from EBay. The window felts do not need glue or at least I didn’t use any. It is a nice tight fit and does not seem to need glue to stay in place. I will say that the felts are tight everywhere except maybe around the door lock area. I also put window tint as well because sun was beating up interior. If you are talking about outer rubber door seal that is just a press fit around door edge no glue needed there either. Was a easy install and it was 100 for new seals

Are you talking about the secondary seal that is glued to the top of the doors? If so you could try 3M 1300. You can get that just about anywhere and brush it on with an acid brush.

This is the seal I'm referring to guys. Should've posted a picture before... It's glued all along the front edge where the arrows are to about the middle up top. Where it comes down the back side isn't. I wasn't sure if it needs to be glued because water might run in between where the weather strip presses on the metal edge (if that makes any sense).

No glue on that deal. Snaps into place with embedded clips.

Those have been glued some time if the old rubber will not stay in place people getting tied of them pop off. But new rubber should work for a long time with out glue.

Thanks Folks! Now I can finally get the last bit of the floor mat done once the seals are in.
