Re: if you use photobucket for image hosting you MUST READ THIS

Does anybody know if you're a paid member now and upload photos to the forum server, and insert them into a build thread, but don't continue your subscription in the future? Do those photos disappear?

I'm not sure about the photos you can upload to the "gallery", but when you're creating a post using the "go advanced" option if you upload your photos through the "manage attachments" button, they will stay on the forum, even if you don't pay the membership.

I found this link and another site and looks like this may reattach all lost pics? I haven't tried it yet.

For those of you who use firefox, install this add-on and it will fix all photobucket images (for now anyway): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ed-fix/?src=ss

And one for Chrome users: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...fegnfnflicjjgj

Looks like the pirates at PhotoScamIt have broken the plugin so it doesn't work anymore. I also tried the wayback machine and for some reason many of the photos now read "no history for this page." I wonder if they paid off the archivers to close the pages?

Re: if you use photobucket for image hosting you MUST READ THIS

Pee-bucket has changed

From another forum

Photobucket has a new management team that wants to do the right thing. We are committed to earning back your trust and offering comprehensive and flexible image storage and hosting options for our customers. We’ve taken your feedback and made some changes to our pricing model that allows us to offer competitively priced plans that fit the needs of all of our customers.

Today, our current customers’ hosted images have been restored and Photobucket is introducing a new pricing plan that is built around everyone’s needs.

For a limited time, we are offering a new, competitive subscription package that includes ad-free storage and 3rd party image hosting for just $1.99 per month, or $19.99 per year - which is 95 percent less than the previous pricing model. . . .

My images that were hosted at Pee-bucket now work, no more speedometer image at least in one of the forums I visit

I think I am going to sign up for a yearly plan. All my images are already there, originals stored on another location as well.

I hope other Pee-bucket users consider this. I love reading old build threads, if all the images were back in place it would be great.

That's good news short term. At least gives some of us time to really get off their platform haha.

Ya if you dont get clear of that team you will be a victim soon enough. Just a matter of time.
I downloaded a few pics of mine and their waiting time was so frustrating I said just screw it and closed my account. I will not be held hostage!

Re: if you use photobucket for image hosting you MUST READ THIS

Photobucket is dead as far as I'm concerned. I just need to know the best way to get all my photos and videos away from there in as simple a way as possible. The site is so slowed up it is painful just to go find one picture to post...or upload back to my computer. Is there a reputable photo storage site that I can swap it all over to in one felled swoop?

^Not really. I've used Imgur a bit, but its not nearly as organizable and usable as the old bucket was.

How would one end up a victim or a hostage?

All your original image files should be stored in a separate secure location

Pee-bucket is useful for posting images for public viewing

I'm not saying Pee-bucket is the greatest I just want them to stick around so I can view old builds that have images hosted on Photobucket

Re: if you use photobucket for image hosting you MUST READ THIS

P-bucket was my separate secure location for my files. I have pictures there I had lost out of two or three laptops when they failed. It's all there back to '04 in my Photobucket account.

I'm not sure what happened, I'll have to try again. But the last time I saved a folder of pictures one by one from Photobucket to my computer they seem to be blocked. I had no images when I went to the new folder, just some icon. I did it over and over exactly how I always have for 14 years. Didn't work.

Re: if you use photobucket for image hosting you MUST READ THIS

Photobucket may have backed up a bit on holding everyone's pictures hostage. I deleted my account anyway and told them why. They got greedy. They blew it.

Ranks right up there with websites blasting you to death with ads... then begging you to turn off your ad blocker. No. You brought it on yourself. You dug your own grave.

I did a long writeup with Photobucket images on another site. Just looked and it appears to be working again.
