Cab alignment

Hello guys, my cab is not installed straight and I need to find the best way to be sure it's on the frame in the correct position. Do you measure the rocker to frame rail or is there more to it than that? The gap between the cab and the bed is not the same on each side.
Thanks

Re: Cab alignment

Can you find same points on each side and measure to a common point? Possible the frame is bent.

Re: Cab alignment

I'm sure the frame is not bent, the cab was removed a couple of years ago, I believe it's shifted or was not straight to start with.

Re: Cab alignment

I installed the cab, then the bed, then the core support then the front fenders. Leaving every thing pretty loose so that it could all be adjusted to line up with each other. I did no measuring aside from using my fingers as a gage in some of the gaps. Everything has to look good in the end when it's all together.

The bed, cab and core support all have considerable slop in the connection points so that it can all move around to suit each other. The front fenders have some slop, but not near as much as the rest of the parts.

Without knowing your situation, one could guess that your bed is off and maybe your cab too.

Hopefully your frame is straight.

Re: Cab alignment

What I did...

Got the bed on the frame as straight/plumb as possible, then aligned/shimmed the cab-fenders-core as a unit with the bed using multiple floor jacks and lengths of 2x4.
