Plug wires for HEI and stock exhaust

I've got a GM Goodwrench 350 with HEI and stock exhaust manifolds. I pulled the plug wires off a while ago and just got around to installing new ones. For some reason, I had purchased these, which do not appear to be correct for my truck. There's at least one wire that's way too short. I did some searching it sounds like Taylor is pretty popular. I believe this is the correct set ('71 C10 Suburban). I also cut the wire loom brackets off of the valve covers, so I need another loom solution. I saw that GMCPauls offers some, but I was wondering which one(s) I would need. There are rear, side and oil pan mounted retainers. Also wondering if I need the heat shields.

Thanks!

Re: Plug wires for HEI and stock exhaust

I picked up a set of Accel universal wires for mine. Running stock maniforlds. But I got the ones with the straight boots. I think they may have been the 4040's.

Re: Plug wires for HEI and stock exhaust

If you have the rams horns then just get a set of '75 Corvette stock replacement wires. They will be for the same style manifold and for an HEI. Typically you can get a pretty good set at RockAuto cheap. Right now the cheapest set they have is $12 and the Standard Blue Streak 8.5mm performance wires are $35.

The Denso 6718024 are spiral wrapped silicon 8mm wires and are $22 is what I think I'd spend my money on.
