Flywheel

Will the flywheel from a 292 fit a 350, and can I use the starter from the six, it looks like it mounts to the bell housing, on the 350.

Re: Flywheel

I would guess a 292 is internal balance and uses a zero balance flywheel like the other contemporary Chevy motors. So most likely you can use the flywheel. Probably true with the starter as well but you should test fit because it can make a difference on the diameter of the flywheel which dictates how many teeth are on the starter ring gear.

Re: Flywheel

Yes the 292 flywheel will bolt up to a '68-'85 350. However I believe with 292 flywheel is drilled to accept 1/2" bolts instead of the typical 7/16" bolts used on most other I6 and GEN I small blocks. Yes you can use the same bellhousing mounted starter.
