What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems

Just looking on Ebay and found two auctions that had the C/10 and the Custom/10 emblems in them...

What is the difference and which models were impacted?
Are they interchangeable (are the pegs the same pattern on each)?

Here are the pix...to compare...

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems

"custom 10" is a 4wd 1/2 ton, c10 is a 2wd 1/2 ton AFAIK.

I dont have the answer for this either, but that cant be true as my truck was originally a 2wd 3/4 LWB "Camper special" and has factory Custom/20 emblems.

Hmm, then I really have no idea - mine has "custom 20" and is a 3/4 ton 4x4. Would be interesting to know.

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems

Mine is missing the emblems except above the drivers door handle is has "Custom". The truck is a 1/2 ton 2wd. I always thought that the emblems that would go on it would be the "Custom/10"??
Now you guys have me wondering.

Don't the "C/10 350" emblems go on the front fenders below the side marker lights and the "Custom/10" emblems go on the doors? So there is no difference. It is just where they are placed?

I just got a 72 3/4 2WD and it has the Custom/20 and the 8/350 badges on the front...

so I have no idea either - saw the two and figured I would ask...

i wonder if it has to do with the truck being a "custom deluxe" model as apposed to just a std. ordered truck??? i dunno....

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems

Could the model year have something to do with it? I know 67-68's didn't have either of those. We had a bowtie with a 10 on the fenders.

Doesn't C10 denote a base model while Custom10 is generally a Custom deluxe?

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems

Custom/10,Custom/20,Custom/30 was 71-72 base model and 69-70 optioned (Pretty sure it started in 71).Custom was base model in 71-72.C/10,etc or Custom/10,etc were mounted on the fenders and the Engine size emblems were under the sidemarker but on 4wds if they had the "4 Wheel Drive" badges, they went under the sidemarker and the engine size emblem went under "C/10",etc emblems
Just the regular C/10,C/20,C/30 was 69-70 badges base model. The 67-68s had the bowtie and the 10,20,30,etc badges.Whether 2 or 4wd they had C/What ever or Custom/What ever, but some of the 4wds had "4 Wheel Drive" badges under the sidemarker. The only 4wds to actually have "K" badges were the Blazers and the 2wds had them too..Even though the 2wds are technically C/5s..

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems

C10crazy is on the right track. I have never seen a original paint 69 or 70 that have a Custom/10 fender emblem, they have always been c/10,c/20...ect.

almost right, but custom 10 was on 69 models too, as i've had 3 that are "very" original and they were all three custom 10 models. I thought that the c 10 was the base of the base and the custom 10 were one step higher

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems

Dohh! I should have remembered that...My '69 4wd has the Custom badges..Regular old C series was base then, with Custom being one step up.Then in '71 Custom became base model.

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems

The peg location is the same. C-10 series started in 69. Next step up was the custom/10, then the custom deluxe, then the cheyenne, or cst., then the super. The peg location is the same on cheyenne also. There was also the custom camper that fit in there somewhere also. Any questions, let me know. (looks like my auctions)

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems

It`s like this...
69/70:C/10=base model.Custom/10=medium level model.CST/10=top-of-the-line.

71/72:Custom/10=base model.CustomDeluxe=1st upgrade model.Cheyenne/10=2nd upgrade model.CheyenneSuper/10=top-of-the-line.

10/20/30 all the same models available.Holes all the same.Extra hole under badge all the same for optional engine size in 69/70 and Deluxe or Super in 71/72.

67-68 all had bowtie with 10-30 in sme holes as model badges.Custom or CST badges were on the doors in the same holes as a Blazer CST 69/72.

So how do i go about finding out what model my 72 is? The only emblem on it is "Custom" above the drivers side door handle? So it could be "custom or custom deluxe"?

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems

This is my 71 that is a custom deluxe 2 wheel drive LWB. Don't mind the 5.0 stickers. They are not going back on it... none of them. I'm having it all air brushed back on with pin stripping to accent the two colors.

This is what it will have on it now.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

The Custom script was used by GMC and was 1/2 of the Custom Camper script when a model nameplate was used rather than the Custom Camper nameplate on the fender.
It`s not original to your truck. Your truck is de-badged and re-badged. Which is a pretty cool custom touch. What does your SPID say? A lot may have been changed. But, do you have stainless around your windows and scroll on the door panels? If you have a rubber mat it`s prolly a Custom Deluxe. If it has woodgrain on the door panel and all the above, but carpet it could be a Cheyenne. We could prolly get to the bottom of this with enough questions and answers.
The Customs had no trim around windows(black wing vents)and door panels without scroll or chrome trim.

I just bought the truck a couple weks ago and it is currently at my mechanics shop getting work done that I cannot do so i will try to go by memory for now on answering some of the questions.
1. It does have a rubber mat floor
2. What is SPID (sorry i am a noobie)?
3. No wood grain and there is stainless around front and back windows but to my memory not the sides.

The truck was repainted right over the stock color (no sanding or anything) It was a seafoamish green color now a gawd awful purple.

here are the pics I have right now.

Ps. Sorry to the OP. Didn't mean to hijack this thread.
