Recently bought a 72 K20 4X4 4-Speed and have a Tremec TKO-600 sitting in my garage I bought new for my 67 Chevelle SS that I have now sold. So, I have this $3500 transmission kit sitting in my garage and am wondering if it's realistic to consider replacing the M20 in my truck with the TKO-600. How will this trans work with the transfer case? The overdrive with the TKO-600 would really be nice.
Thanks if anyone can provide any ideas.

4 Speed in the '72 should be an SM465. TKO-600 could probably be made to work, but I doubt there is an off the shelf option to marry the tranny to the T-case.

Nah, too much headache trying to make that work. Look for other options and save your sanity.

I don't think it will work. Probably would be better off selling it going a different direction. The tailshaft is completely different. I put I'm assuming the same unit I'm my camaro.

Sell the TKO and get an NV4500 if you really want an overdrive manual.
